St. Elizabeth's - School

St Elizabeth’s school is a supportive and caring school that welcomes both staff and pupils warmly. The school works hard to establish positive, trusting relationships to ensure students feel safe and full of joy. Through well sequenced and bespoke curriculum planning students are able to maximise progress. Preparing pupils for their future lives is a thread running through all the pathways. Meaningful activities encourage pupils to use their knowledge in practical contexts, we craft the day to ensure this is well integrated into the curriculum.

  • Our curriculum is delivered in three pathways, each unique and bespoke to needs of the pupils.
  • We offer wider curriculum projects in the horticultural centre, Ash Vale and the Drawing Room, that enhance EHCP progress against targets as well as reiterate curriculum intent targets.
  • Promoting the love of reading is a passion of the school. Early reading is well taught using Read Write Inc. Pupils enjoy selecting their favourite books and hearing stories read by adults and other peers.
  • Holistically we deliver therapy in group sessions, on an individual basis, as well as through the curriculum. We do this in collaboration with our extensive team of therapists; including speech and language, physiotherapy and occupational therapy.
  • Behaviour is well managed at the school, there is strong culture of respect. This is reinforced with the support of our onsite Positive Behaviour Support team.
  • All staff attend regular training online, face to face to face and externally to enhance the offer of the school. All staff have all required checks and DBS for children and adults are completed and regularly reviewed.
