Beezee Families 1:1

Beezee, under Maximus is commissioned by Herts County Council to run FREE healthy lifestyle programmes for children aged 5-15 years and their families. Our Beezee Families 1:1 service helps kickstart their journey to a healthier, happier family. Two 1:1 appointments, one month apart, offering health and wellbeing advice, tailored to the family's specific needs, we can help them address any challenges they face in maintaining a healthy household.

For those families who may or may not be eligible for our 12-week in person or online programmes, the 1:1 support service can help.

Who can use this service?

To be eligible for Beezee Families 1:1 service, families must: Have a child aged 5-15 with a BMI above the 91st centile OR who presents with at least TWO of the following risk factors:

• Children with SEND​
• 1+ parent or older sibling overweight/obese​
• Rapid weight gain (2 centiles crossed)​
• Poor diet, sleep patterns, weight / oral health​
• Less than 1 hour of physical activity a day​
• Fussy /restrictive eating (not underweight)​
• 2+ hours screen time/day​
• Poor self-esteem in relation to weight​
• Subject to weight-based bullying​
• Live in a deprived area​
• Ethnic minority groups​
• Conditions associated with obesity or one-to-one support
