St Clare Hospice: Compassionate Neighbours Project

This programme offers support for people who are experiencing loneliness and isolation due to their age (85+) or illness (life limiting i.e. Cancer, heart failure, COPD). Trained Compassionate Neighbours visit members of the community regularly to combat social isolation and offer a listening ear, companionship and emotional support.

Please note: We take great care to match referred people to a volunteer, and sometimes there may be a delay in a volunteer being available. We will acknowledge your referral and update you once they are matched. 

Who can use this service?

This programme supports people that have a life-limiting illness or who are 85+ (but potentially younger depending on circumstances) that maybe experiencing loneliness and isolation. 

How are services delivered?

Community Members are assessed to gain a picture of their life and interests, then the match based on this information.
